On Saturday, May 9, Russia will celebrate the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The main event will traditionally be the parade on Red Square in Moscow. Izvestia tells us if there is an opportunity to get to the stands and where you can see the march live.

How to get to the Victory Day Parade-2026 in Moscow

Many people would like to attend the parade in Moscow, but access to the stands on Red Square is limited — you can only get there by personal invitation. They are given to war veterans and their relatives, high-ranking military personnel, representatives of departments, leaders of friendly countries and other honored guests. The winners of the Dictation of Victory, a historical event dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, will also have the right to attend the stands.

You will not be able to purchase tickets, as they have never been on sale. Any offers from "sellers" are nothing more than a trick of scammers.

For most people, the most accessible way to watch the parade is live streaming. It will allow you to monitor what is happening from anywhere in the world and examine details that may not be visible from the stands.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that in 2026, during the broadcast of the parade, the work of military personnel performing tasks in the zone of a special military operation, as well as those on combat duty and combat duty at the control points of the Strategic Missile Forces, Aerospace Forces and Navy ships will be shown.

Where to watch the dress rehearsal of the parade

In 2026, the military parade on May 9 in Moscow will be held without the participation of military equipment. Pupils of the Suvorov military and Nakhimov military schools and cadet corps will also not participate in it. The Ministry of Defense explained this decision by the current operational situation. At the same time, the aviation part of the parade will take place — planes of Russian aerobatic air groups will fly over Red Square, and at the end, pilots of Su-25 attack aircraft will paint the sky of Moscow in the colors of the flag of the Russian Federation.

Military personnel of higher military educational institutions of all types and individual branches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will take part in the parade as part of a walking column. Those who still want to see the procession in person should pay attention to the dress rehearsal. The Kremlin's website states that it will be held on May 7.

During the dress rehearsal and the parade itself, traffic in the center of the capital will be restricted. All information about this will be published on the website of the Moscow Department of Transport. Also, since the end of April, work has been underway on Red Square to install stands for the upcoming parade, access to it is partially restricted.
