A yellow weather hazard level has been declared in Moscow and the Moscow Region on May 5 and 6 due to expected thunderstorms and increased winds. The relevant information was published on the official website of the Hydrometeorological Center.
According to forecasters, thunderstorms with rain are possible in the capital region these days. The south-westerly wind is also expected to increase, with gusts of up to 15 m/s.
A warning about adverse weather conditions will be in effect in Moscow and the Moscow region until 21:00 Moscow time on both days.
Marina Makarova, a leading employee of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said on May 2 that meteorological summer will begin in the Moscow region on May 26. As the meteorologist noted, this is most important for people working in the agricultural sector. At the same time, the weather conditions will allow all other Russians to feel the onset of the summer season.
