The authors of the Volga project have applied for a new trademark
Nizhny Novgorod company JSC "Production of Passenger Cars", which launched a project to assemble models under the revived Volga brand, has applied for registration of the VLG Tech trademark. The document has been published on the website of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), Izvestia has confirmed.
A trademark is registered according to various classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), which relate primarily to automotive spare parts and accessories. It is possible that the name VLG Tech will be used specifically for the sale of branded auto parts.
The production of Volga cars will be set up at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod, where previously Skoda and Volkswagen models were produced. The fact that the first car passed through the assembly line became known at the end of March.
Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Gleb Nikitin has already purchased a new Volga K50 crossover to test the car. He posted footage of the car and shared his impressions of the novelty.
The Volga K50 is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2026, along with the K40 crossover and the C50 sedan. All of them are based on Chinese cars, but in the future Volga intends to develop its own original models.
