Trump urged Starmer to follow the example of King Charles III.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer must learn to act in the same way as King Charles III, which could help him achieve better results in his work. This statement was made on April 30 by US President Donald Trump in a telephone interview with Sky News.
"Your prime minister must learn to act in the same way as he (Charles III. — Ed.). And then he will achieve more," Trump said.
The politician clarified that during his tenure, the British prime minister made a number of mistakes in the field of migration and energy. At the same time, Trump noted that he sympathizes with Starmer.
"I really like Keir Starmer, but I think he made tragic mistakes on immigration and energy," Trump said.
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, said on the same day that Starmer's managerial mistakes in the energy sector had led to a situation where residents of the kingdom were forced to face empty shelves in stores amid the energy crisis. He noted that the next energy shock in the UK is expected in two weeks.
Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, landed in Maryland on April 27 as part of a four-day trip to the United States. The visit comes amid tensions in US-British relations over the war in Iran. Trump is known to sharply criticize British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's refusal to provide military assistance to the United States.
