- Israel has refused to unload the Panormitis vessel with grain from the Russian Federation at the port of Haifa
The Israeli grain importer company Zenciper, at the request of the Kiev regime, refused to unload grain from Panormitis with grain from the Russian Federation at the port of Haifa amid a conflict with Ukraine over the supply of this type of product. Pnina Shalev, a spokeswoman for the Israeli Grain Importers Association, told Izvestia on April 30.
On the same day, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Andriy Sibiga, demanded the arrest of the Panormitis vessel with wheat harvested, according to Kiev, in the territories liberated by the Russian Federation and which Kiev considers "stolen Ukrainian."
"Given the circumstances, the grain importer company Centsiper is forced to refuse a Russian ship, which is at the center of a scandal with Ukraine with a cargo of wheat on board," she said.
According to Shalev, the Russian supplier of this cargo will have to find another destination for unloading grain. In addition, in a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Nikita Kulyukhin, she said that the Russian company would also have to pay $7 million to terminate the contract.
The Haaretz newspaper reported on April 28 that the European Union may impose sanctions against Israel over Russian grain. Later, the head of the Knesset Committee on Labor and Social Security of Israel, Michal Woldiger, pointed out that Ukraine had shown ingratitude by threatening to impose sanctions against Tel Aviv.
Prior to that, the country's Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, said that Ukraine's accusations against Israel due to the situation with grain purchases allegedly harvested in new regions of the Russian Federation had no evidence. At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga expressed dissatisfaction with Saarland on April 15, as Tel Aviv accepts grain ships from Russia. He stated that such alleged "illegal trade" is unacceptable.
