Investigators began checking after the publication in the media of a video of a fight between a teacher and a sixth-grader at a school in Mezhdurechensk. This was announced on April 28 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo region.

In the footage distributed online, which was filmed by eyewitnesses, the teacher pushes the boy to the blackboard, and then to the exit from the office. A scuffle begins between them near the door, which continues in the hallway of the institution.

"During the monitoring of the media and social media, a message and a video were revealed that in the classroom of one of the educational institutions of the city of Mezhdurechensk, a teacher committed illegal acts against a sixth—grade student," the department said in a Telegram channel.

The inspection is organized under Articles 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence) and 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of duties for the upbringing of a minor). A procedural decision will be made based on its results, the press service added.

On April 23, it was reported that in the city of Berezniki, Perm Krai, a schoolboy was fined 10,000 rubles for insulting a teacher based on nationality. The incident occurred back in November 2025. As the court found, the ninth-grader was late for his chemistry lesson. The teacher made a remark to him and asked him to leave the classroom in order to enter again, asking for permission. However, the teenager showed the teacher an indecent hand gesture and left.
