Valeria Bonadykova, a cardiologist at the Scandinavian Health Center, told on Thursday, April 23, how coffee is related to heart health. The body's response to coffee largely depends on the dose, strength and time of use, she noted.

According to the cardiologist, if you drink too much of this drink, it can cause a rapid pulse, a feeling of heart failure and sleep problems. Bonadykova clarified that unpleasant effects appear more often if a person drinks coffee irregularly, but in large portions.

At the same time, the doctor added that the presence or absence of coffee in the diet is secondary to the prevention of heart problems. In order to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, it is primarily important to control blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as to stop smoking, exercise regularly, not gain excess weight and get enough sleep.

She stressed that sleep is a key provoker of heart problems, and if coffee shifts falling asleep and reduces the quality of a night's rest, then blood pressure and well-being often worsen due to lack of sleep.

"A typical pattern looks like this: fatigue is compensated by caffeine, sleep gets worse, and the need for coffee increases again in the morning. This circle increases sensitivity to symptoms," concluded Bonadykova in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
