Iran has always welcomed peace talks, but the blockade and threats from the United States are preventing a peaceful settlement of the issue. This was announced on April 22 by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has welcomed and continues to welcome dialogue and agreements. Violation of obligations, blockades and threats are the main obstacles to genuine negotiations," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

In addition, Peseshkian noted that the United States will not be able to hide its hypocritical rhetoric and contradictions between statements and actions from the world.

On the same day, CNN News channel, citing sources, said that Donald Trump plans to give Iran limited time to prepare solutions to resolve the conflict in the Middle East. The publication claims that the White House does not want to extend the ceasefire indefinitely and provide Tehran with additional time to delay negotiations.

On the same day, Trump admitted that peace talks with Iran could take place within the next one and a half to three days. He also said on April 20 that he would not extend the temporary ceasefire with Tehran, which expires on the night of April 23.
