The Iranian side does not intend to negotiate with US Vice President Jay Dee Vance because of the "absurd" demands of the United States. This was announced on April 20 by Professor Mohammad Marandi of Tehran University.

"I advise the Vice President of the United States, J. D. Vance, to unpack his bags and not go to Islamabad. Given the current absurd and unrealistic demands and the ongoing naval blockade, no one in Tehran wants to negotiate with him," Marandi wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

On April 20, US President Donald Trump announced that representatives of his administration were heading to Islamabad to participate in negotiations on Iran. The head of the White House noted that Iran and the United States have agreed to hold the next round of negotiations, despite the assurances of the Iranian side to the contrary.

The IRNA news agency reported on April 20 that Iran had decided to withdraw from the second round of negotiations due to excessive US demands and frequent changes of position. It was clarified that this was due to excessive and unreasonable demands from the American side.
