Fidan stated Turkey's readiness to organize negotiations on Ukraine
During its contacts with Russia and Ukraine, Turkey has repeatedly stated its readiness to become a platform for negotiations between the parties. This was announced on April 19 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"Turkey is always ready to organize negotiations at the leadership level, and we are also ready to hold discussions at the technical level. We have no problem with that. We are ready to act the same way as before," the minister said at a press conference following the results of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, broadcast by the publication DRM News on the YouTube channel.
Fidan added that Ankara is also ready to support any negotiation processes that take place in other countries. He recalled Turkey's position on maintaining peace in all regions and expressed hope for the end of all conflicts.
Yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is positive about the possibility of resuming negotiations in Istanbul on a settlement in Ukraine. He added that Moscow has never walked away from initiatives of diplomatic discussion and is ready to consider proposals from interested countries. As soon as the real proposal matures, Russia will consider it.
