The first test car of the Russian brand Jeland was assembled in St. Petersburg

A test car of the new Russian brand Jeland has been assembled at the automobile plant of the AGR holding in Shushary. This is a crossover that will be sold under the J6 index. The release of the test machine is the final stage of the company's preparation for the launch of full—cycle production, and equipment is currently being retrofitted and production modes are being tested, the company's press service said in a statement received by Izvestia on April 16.

The assembly shop was formed as a result of the technical re-equipment of the former GM plant. Previously installed equipment has been completely dismantled at the site, construction and infrastructure work has been carried out, including the installation of new foundations, modernization of engineering networks and installation of a modern conveyor system.

The assembly plant is organized on the basis of five conveyor lines, it includes 88 workstations. Dozens of manipulators, automated glue application systems, equipment for refueling process fluids, as well as 27 autonomous vehicles (AGVs) and robotic complexes are installed in the workshop. The line is designed taking into account the possibility of assembling several body models.

The process covers the full cycle of vehicle assembly — from the installation of interior elements and glazing, the installation of the fuel system, suspension and powertrain, as well as programming electronic systems, to refueling with technical fluids. The final stage is testing and quality control, including testing on roller stands and road tests.

Jeland is the second project of AGR and Defetoo after the Tenet brand, whose cars are produced in Kaluga. The third brand will be Tenet Plus. A prototype of one of the Jeland models was demonstrated to the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, at the end of March, and the city administration published footage of the car.

Prior to that, on April 15, it was reported that AGR Holding and Defetoo had started forming a dealer network of the domestic Jeland car brand. The start of full-cycle production of Jeland vehicles and the start of sales are scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
