Relations between the United States and NATO are traumatic, and the alliance needs to turn to the writings of Sigmund Freud. This was stated on April 15 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on Sputnik radio.

"This is some kind of unhealthy relationship. The traumatic nature of the relationship. Here [psychoanalyst Sigmund] Freud is needed by them simply without any alternatives," the diplomat said.

Zakharova recalled that all members of the North Atlantic Alliance regularly pay the United States for protection, but they do not say from whom the danger comes.

In turn, Washington threatens to take Greenland away from Europe and at the same time resents NATO members for their unwillingness to help in the Strait of Hormuz.

On March 15, Trump appealed to countries dependent on oil supplied through the Strait of Hormuz, blocked by Iran, to ensure the safety of this transport route. He then threatened NATO with a "bad future" if it refused to help unblock the water area.

Bloomberg reported on March 18 that Trump's demands to participate in the defense of the Strait of Hormuz were a turning point for the European Union (EU) and Asian countries. The publication clarified that Trump's request to send warships to the region prompted European countries to reconsider their position.
