The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate reported a decrease in the number of accidents with children

In the first quarter of 2026 in Moscow, the number of road accidents involving children under the age of 16 decreased by 12.2%, and the deaths and injuries in them — by 100% and 7.4%, respectively. This was announced on April 14 by the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate in its channel on MAX.

In just three months of this year, 158 accidents involving children under the age of 16 were recorded in Moscow, in which 175 children were injured, there were no fatalities.

The State traffic Inspectorate of the capital urged adults and children to observe traffic regulations. Children in the cabin should be transported using a special restraint device. A pedestrian child should be taught an algorithm for safely crossing the carriageway at a pedestrian crossing, the department noted.

"We also urge parents to pay increased attention to the safety of minors when riding bicycles and scooters, as such modes of transport are associated with certain risks," the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate said.

According to the results of January-February 2026, the number of accidents involving victims on the roads of Russia decreased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on April 7, the number of people killed in road accidents during this period decreased by 13.2%, and the number of injured citizens decreased by 6.3%.
