The ENCORE group has allowed a tour of Russia this fall
The members of the reunited duo "ENCORE" Vlad Sokolovsky and Dmitry Bikbaev plan to hold a tour in the fall, as the artists told Izvestia on April 14. The first large-scale performances of the band will be held in September in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
"Of course, there are plans for a big autumn tour. Already in September, we will give two big shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Then we'll see. Festivals? It would be interesting. But not for the sake of money, but for the sake of live contact. We really have something to say now," Sokolovsky said.
The musicians noted that they are targeting both long-time fans of the project and a new audience. According to the artists, they do not aim to "capitalize on nostalgia." Sokolovsky stressed that their old compositions, such as "Katya", continue to be popular with modern users of social networks, which confirms the relevance of the band's work.
At the same time, the duo categorically rejected the idea of re-releasing old hits in modern arrangements.
"No, and no again. The hand does not rise. Everything was written so sincerely that I don't want to touch it. This is the magic of that moment, and we will not violate it," Bikbayev explained.
The band has no plans to release a full-fledged album or record joint tracks with other pop artists in the near future. The artists are currently working on two new songs and looking for an updated sound. Bikbayev, who also acts as a director, allowed the possibility of collaborations with theatrical projects.
According to Sokolovsky, the reunion of the band 17 years after the peak of popularity is due to the desire to close the "inner gestalt" and enjoy creativity. The duo currently has no global commercial goals.
ENCORE is a Russian pop group created in 2007 by producer Konstantin Meladze at the Star Factory - 7. The name was formed from the first letters of the names of the participants. The very first song "Yours or no One's" immediately hit the music charts, followed by "Katya", "Boats" and other compositions. The group existed from 2007 to 2010, after which the artists separated: Bikbaev took up theater and directing, and Sokolovsky built a solo career.
