Forecaster predicted the first spring thunderstorm in Moscow on Tuesday
Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, said that the first spring thunderstorm is expected in Moscow on April 14 with a probability of more than 50%.
In an interview with the Moscow City News Agency on Monday, April 13, she noted that the development of thunderstorm activity would be facilitated by cumulus clouds that would form during the day.
She added that about 8 mm of precipitation could fall in the capital. The specialist explained that such weather is usually typical for May, April thunderstorms are a rare phenomenon, and one of the reasons for this is the process of global warming.
At the end of this week, the daytime air in Moscow will warm up to +17 degrees, writes RIAMO. According to Moscow 24, Muscovites may no longer wait for snow until autumn. The temporary snow cover formed the other day has already disappeared.
On the same day, Pozdnyakova told Izvestia that the weather in Moscow in the coming week would be warm, but unstable — with short-term rains, increased winds and temperatures above the climatic norm. Throughout the week, the air temperature will exceed the climatic norm by an average of 1.5–2.5 degrees.
Also on April 13, forecaster Alexander Shuvalov said that mostly warm weather is expected in Moscow next week. According to him, by the weekend the air will warm up to +20 degrees, notes 360.ru .
