- The media reported on the IDF's preparations for the resumption of the conflict with Iran
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is preparing for a possible escalation of the conflict with Iran amid failed cease-fire talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic. This was reported on March 13 by The Times of Israel newspaper, citing a source.
"All three major Hebrew TV channels reported that the IDF is preparing to resume the conflict with Iran after cease—fire talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic failed," the publication says.
It is clarified that the information became known less than a day after the conclusion of negotiations between the American and Iranian sides in Pakistan, which did not end with an agreement on a full settlement of the conflict in the Middle East.
The Wall Street Journal newspaper reported on April 12 that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, may start attacking Iran again after unsuccessful negotiations in Islamabad. At the same time, the source said that the American leader is open to a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
Negotiations between Washington and Tehran took place on April 11. On April 12, the American leader announced that the US Navy was beginning to block all ships that would attempt to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the negotiations in Islamabad went well, but the key nuclear issue remained unresolved. Trump said Iran had prevented free passage for ships by using threats about mines.
