German Chancellor Friedrich Merz no longer has power in his own cabinet. This was announced on April 10 by German political scientist Albrecht von Lucke.

"It is quite obvious that he does not possess <...> He Merz played the role of chancellor of foreign policy too much and did not take a clear domestic political position, especially in this crisis situation," von Lucke said in an interview with Tagesschau posted on YouTube.

According to him, this could turn against the chancellor.

"As the old saying goes, when the cat is not at home, the mice start frolicking <...> I believe that now he needs to take a position very quickly, which cannot be just passive silence," the political scientist urged.

On March 17, Sarah Wagenknecht, chairman of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV), accused German Chancellor Friedrich Merz of providing excessive financial assistance to Ukraine, calling the politician "crazy." According to her, Merz "is already so confused that he can't even distinguish "millions" from "billions."
