Yandex Auto will present a prototype of a new version of its multimedia AI platform for cars at the Beijing International Auto Show, which will be held at the end of April. The Yandex Auto press service told Izvestia about this on April 10.

The capabilities of the Alice AI assistant will be expanded: She will not only be able to perform tasks according to the driver's requests, but will also actively offer assistance herself, depending on the situation. For example, if a driver is on his way to a restaurant meeting and is delayed due to a traffic jam, the AI assistant will suggest rearranging the route or rescheduling a table reservation for another time. When choosing the second option, Alice rebooks herself with the help of an AI agent.

Yandex Auto plans to develop the platform based on the accumulated expertise of Yandex in the field of artificial intelligence, including experience in developing AI agents for users. So, Alice will learn to understand the context of the trip and, for example, taking into account the destination and time of day, check the to-do list in the calendar, analyze the situation on the roads and other external factors such as the weather. The AI assistant will help solve problems using voice commands while driving so that the driver does not get distracted from the road.

In developing the platform, the company will also draw on its experience in cooperation with automakers. According to her, among all new cars with Internet access and a multimedia screen sold in Russia in 2025, 32% are equipped with Yandex services. In two to three years, the share is expected to grow to 65%.

In total, there are more than 450 thousand vehicles in the Russian Federation in which the platform is integrated. Yandex cooperates with 11 partners and is negotiating with 11 other brands to integrate the platform into their models. Currently, Yandex Auto is available in Lada (Vesta, Iskra, Granta and others), Great Wall Motor (Haval, Tank, Wey), GAC (GS8, Aion V, S7) and Changan (Uni-S) models. The platform is also widely integrated into the UMO 5 electric vehicle. In 2026, the number of car brands with Yandex Auto on board is planned to increase to 25.

The start of the assembly of new electric and hybrid cars under the UMO brand at the Moskvich plant became known on February 20. Yandex became the technological partner of the project. The UMO 5 electric car is a "clone" of the Chinese GAC Aion Y Plus. It is equipped with a 204 hp engine, and the maximum range on a single charge varies from 300 to 400 km.
