Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday, April 9, announced the country's intention to defend its economic interests more harshly in matters related to the import of foreign products.

At the presentation of the Local Content project, he stressed that now local products will have priority, rather than imports from the United States, Japan, Korea, Great Britain and other partner countries.

"When it comes to Polish interests, there are no more suckers, I apologize for this harsh wording. There are people who will consistently and resolutely defend Polish interests," Tusk said.

The new policy is aimed at supporting domestic producers and strengthening the country's economic independence.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), named the EU countries most vulnerable to the energy shock on April 1. According to Dmitriev, Italy is at risk due to its high dependence on gas imports, while Germany suffers from a combination of high demand and the need for external supplies of resources.
