The United States has not achieved any of its strategic goals in Iran, and Washington's declared victory is "fake." This was announced on April 8 by Senator of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov.

According to the parliamentarian, none of the three key tasks of the American side has been fulfilled: the political regime in Iran has been preserved, the country's missile potential has not been lost, and the enriched uranium has not been withdrawn. Pushkov noted that despite the destruction of many important facilities, Iran's strategic and resource potential remained intact.

"The victory, in a word, is fake. But necessary for [US President Donald] Trump to save face," Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

The senator also drew attention to the diametrically opposed interpretations of the terms of the truce by the parties. Tehran declares that all its demands have been fulfilled, including the lifting of sanctions, the preservation of the nuclear program and the payment of compensation for military damage. Pushkov believes that if the United States agrees to these conditions, it will mean their "complete and unconditional defeat."

"The only thing the opposing sides agree on is that the prospect of unblocking the Strait of Hormuz is close. However, in Tehran, they no longer believe the words," the senator noted.

Alexey Pushkov added that the restoration of navigation in the Strait cannot be considered an achievement of Trump, since the blocking was caused by aggressive actions by Washington. According to the parliamentarian, the current truce may be only a tactical retreat by the US president, and his fate remains uncertain, including due to the position of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"It cannot be ruled out that the parties are now maneuvering, trying to make the most of the pause in hostilities," the senator concluded.

On the night of April 8, Trump announced that he had agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for another two weeks. The condition for this was the complete unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz. The United States also received a 10-point proposal from Iran to resolve the conflict. At the same time, on that day, Trump declared his readiness to resume hostilities against Iran if the United States could not conclude an agreement satisfactory to Washington.
