- The lawyer warned about fines for violating the rules of lighting a fire in the country
The use of an open fire in dachas requires strict compliance with fire safety regulations. Even when burning grass or installing a barbecue, it is necessary to take into account the established distances to buildings and woodlands, Alexander Khaminsky, lawyer and head of the Law Enforcement Center in Moscow and the Moscow Region, told Izvestia on April 3.
"When using an open flame in a metal container (tank, barrel) for burning dry grass and branches, the place of lighting the fire should be located at least 7.5 m away from buildings, structures and other structures," he said.
According to the expert, when burning dry grass and branches in a metal container, the place of fire should be at least 7.5 m away from buildings and other structures. It is also necessary to keep a distance to woodlands: at least 50 m to coniferous forest and 15 m to deciduous forest.
As the lawyer noted, when installing a barbecue for cooking, the requirements can be relaxed. In this case, the distance to the buildings can be reduced to 5 m, and the area of cleaning from combustible materials — up to 2 m. The lawyer warned that non-compliance with these rules entails administrative liability. The fine for citizens can reach 15 thousand rubles, and if a violation leads to a fire — up to 50 thousand rubles.
In addition, during the period of dry and hot weather in the regions, a special fire protection regime may be introduced. At this time, it is forbidden to build bonfires, burn garbage and use an open fire in suburban areas.
"Violation of the regime entails fines for citizens up to 5 thousand rubles. for citizens and up to 500 thousand rubles. for legal entities," Khaminsky added.
Khaminsky said on March 18 that gardeners in Russia could face up to eight years in prison for growing plants containing narcotic or psychotropic substances. According to him, criminal liability occurs if the number of plants is estimated as large or especially large. He added that growing up to 10 poppy plants can already be considered a large size, which provides for imprisonment for up to eight years.
