On April 2, Khairudin, a resident of the flooded village of Adilotar in the Khasavyurt district of Dagestan, told about the rescue of his family at the time of the incident.

"It rained for two days, and there was snow in the mountains, and all this poured down the Aktash River into the village on March 28. The water came quickly, they didn't have time to take anything with them, only documents, and run outside. The water was above the waist," Khairudin said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, it is now dangerous to stay in the house where he lived with his family.

"The house is almost collapsing, everything inside is falling, cracking. Property, furniture, household appliances — everything should be thrown away, useless. It's already dangerous to live here, we'll have to build somewhere else," Khairudin said.

He also noted that, in addition to property, the family also lost their animals.

"There were three cows, three calves, six lambs and 20 chickens in the barn. We didn't have time to save them, everyone died," Khairudin shared.

The head of the region, Sergey Melikov, reported on March 29 that Makhachkala and Khasavyurt were the hardest hit due to floods in Dagestan. He said that the regional government has already begun to assess the consequences and think about possible solutions to eliminate them.
