US President Donald Trump is considering a military operation to extract more than 450 kg of uranium from Iranian territory. This was reported on March 29 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing American officials.

"Trump is considering the possibility of conducting an operation to extract almost 1,000 pounds (453.6 kg) from Iran. — Ed.) of uranium," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, the US president has not yet made a final decision and is thinking about the risks for the US military. At the same time, Trump is openly opposed to such a plan.

In addition, Trump is calling on his advisers to put pressure on Iran to agree to the transfer of uranium as a condition for ending the military conflict.

The American newspaper The New York Times, citing officials, reported on March 8 that the United States fears that Iran may reach the uranium reserves at the facility in Isfahan. According to the newspaper, the Iranian republic could have the opportunity to reach the storage facilities through a narrow passage at the site of the rubble. For this reason, American intelligence agencies have organized constant surveillance of the facility in Isfahan.
