A state of emergency has been introduced in the city of Buinaksk in Dagestan amid the threat of landslides due to prolonged rains. This was announced by the city administration on March 29.

"At the meeting of the operational staff, it was decided to introduce an emergency regime in the territory of the city of Buinaksk from March 29, 2026," the Telegram channel said.

In addition, Nadim Velikhanov, Deputy Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management in the region, arrived in Buinaksk.

A day earlier, an emergency mode was introduced in Makhachkala due to the effects of heavy rains. At the same time, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, said that heavy rain and wind had created a critical situation in many districts and cities of the republic.
