Norway tightened the rules of stay in the country for Ukrainian men
Norway has tightened the rules for the movement of Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 years. This was announced on March 27 on the website of the press service of the Norwegian government.
"The government has adopted an amendment limiting the Norwegian scheme of temporary collective protection for displaced persons from Ukraine. Men between the ages of 18 and 60, with some exceptions, will no longer receive collective protection in Norway," the publication says.
It is clarified that the amendment was introduced due to the influx of too many Ukrainians into the country, which led to a shortage of housing and work.
As specified in the article, there are exceptions for some Ukrainians. For example, a man under the age of 18 or over 60, the sole guardian for minors, or a person with certain medical conditions is not subject to stricter rules.
The newspaper Die Welt reported on March 14 that the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) wants to limit the receipt of unemployment benefits by Ukrainian men who are recognized as fit for military service. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, in turn, expressed concern about the intensive immigration of Ukrainian men.
