Baku and Yerevan expressed satisfaction with the settlement of bilateral relations
During a telephone conversation, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the positive development in the process of settling bilateral relations. The relevant information was published on the official website of the Armenian Foreign Ministry on March 27.
"The ministers noted with satisfaction the positive developments in the process of further normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the statement said.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on a number of regional issues, as well as discussed the interaction of Yerevan and Baku on international platforms.
On February 13, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that Baku could sign a peace treaty with Yerevan the day after the Armenian side introduced amendments to the Constitution. According to him, the agreements reached at the Washington summit, including the signed Joint Declaration and initialing of the text of the agreement, de facto mean the end of the conflict.
On January 20, Aliyev said that Yerevan and Baku had decided to put an end to the conflict between the countries and had "turned this page." He noted that the continuation of the conflict would lead to very bad consequences, and Azerbaijan's hopes for the intervention of international structures were not justified.
