In cities with tourist potential, it is necessary to provide free parking for local residents on weekends and holidays. On March 20, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky announced a similar initiative to Izvestia.

"The issue of developing domestic tourism is being discussed a lot at the state level. However, while stimulating interest in traveling around Russia, we should not forget about the comfort of local residents — tourists often travel by their own private transport, which leads to a shortage of free parking spaces. The Liberal Democratic Party proposes to establish in cities and towns where there are traditionally many tourists that cars with local license plates can use paid parking for free on weekends and holidays," he said.

Slutsky added that such a measure would allow locals to use a car in their city without additional expenses hitting the family budget, despite the large flow of tourists. While visiting Pereslavl-Zalessky, he recalled that there is a single paid parking space in this city.

Gelendzhik Airport has been the first in Russia to organize a dedicated parking lot for large families since March 5. Parking places are located near the third lane, in the immediate vicinity of the airport complex.

It was noted that families with three or more children will be able to use the parking lot for free. To do this, you must write an email in advance indicating the planned date and time of parking. The operator will inform you about the availability of available seats and send you additional rules for the provision of services.
