Rosaviatsia extended the suspension of flights to Iran and Israel until March 27.
On March 19, the Federal Air Transport Agency extended the suspension of flights of Russian airlines to Iran and Israel, as well as transit through their airspace, until March 27.
"Flights of Russian air transport operators to these countries [Iran and Israel], the use of their airspace for transit flights has been suspended until 23:59 Moscow time on March 27, 2026," the agency wrote in the MAX messenger.
The ministry explained that when flying to the Persian Gulf countries, Russian airlines are recommended to choose bypass routes through the airspace of third countries, observing security measures and actively monitoring the recommendations (NOTAM) of the aviation authorities of these states. These measures are necessary to ensure flight safety.
On February 28, the Federal Air Transport Agency issued recommendations for flights to the Middle East. It was noted that when flying to the Persian Gulf countries, aircraft commanders should route through the airspace of third countries in compliance with all security measures and with active monitoring of the recommendations of foreign aviation authorities.
