The absence of sanctions against Israel for its military actions in the Middle East, in parallel with the intensification of these measures against Russia, testifies to the unprecedented hypocrisy of European politicians. This was announced on March 19 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party.

"Europe does not apply sanctions to Israel for its crimes, but pretends to extend them to Russia. I have never seen so much hypocrisy and double standards in international law," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Mema added that in just a few weeks, 986 Lebanese people were killed and thousands more were injured by the actions of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The Guardian newspaper noted on March 16 that Europe's subjectivity risks weakening if it participates in the conflict in the Middle East. The publication added that the EU avoids directly condemning Israeli-American actions against Iran.

Former head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel recalled on March 19 that the EU was originally created to solve internal, not external problems. According to him, Europe, which does not have a sufficient structure to resolve the escalation in the Middle East, "needs to be rebuilt."

On March 17, Finnish President Alexander Stubb called the lack of advance information, resources and equipment the reasons why NATO did not respond to the US request for help on Iran.
