Mexican President declares readiness to host Iran's matches at the 2026 World Cup

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that the country will be ready to host the matches of the Iranian national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is discussing this issue with the International Football Federation (FIFA), as announced on March 17.

"This is being discussed with FIFA. If it's feasible, why would they go to the USA if they can host the tournament here in Mexico? This is being considered. <...> There are no inconveniences for Mexico," she told a daily news conference. The broadcast was on her YouTube channel.
