Putin drew attention to the problem of second shifts in schools in Udmurtia
The number of large families is steadily growing in Udmurtia: last year there were more than 5 thousand of them, and the total number exceeded 34 thousand. This became known at a meeting between Vladimir Putin and the head of the region, Alexander Brechalov, which took place on March 16. Nevertheless, the low birth rate is still a challenge for the authorities of the republic. The region also needs to solve the problem when children in many schools study in the second shift, the president noted.
What was discussed at the meeting
In Udmurtia, the number of dilapidated and dilapidated housing is decreasing: the resettlement plan is almost completed, said the head of the region, Alexander Brechalov, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin. According to his estimates, over 1.2 million square meters were commissioned last year. m of living space. In total, over 6 thousand people have been resettled since 2019, and another 4.6 thousand are planned.
Udmurtia's gasification rate has reached 80% — 58,000 families have gained access to gas in five years. "This is a good level," Vladimir Putin said.
The Republic has also almost doubled its agricultural exports. Goods are entering new markets — Saudi Arabia, Mongolia and the countries of Southeast Asia. Thanks to the new robotic farms, milk production has increased to 1.1 million tons.
Alexander Brechalov acknowledged that the main challenge for the republic's authorities remains the low birth rate. To solve the problem, starting this year, Udmurtia began to issue a regional maternity capital of 300 thousand rubles. It is given to families where a third and subsequent child is born, as well as to young families under 35 years of age. This helps to improve the situation. For example, in the region in 2025 alone, the number of large families increased by 5,000, and this figure exceeded 34,000.
Vladimir Putin reminded Alexander Brechalov that in December, on a direct line with the president, residents of the region drew attention to the fact that in many schools children study in the second shift. According to the head of the region, this problem mainly concerns Izhevsk, and in order to solve it, a school for more than 1,000 places is already being built in the Ustinovsky district of the city. There are plans to build three more educational institutions. "We can definitely say that we will radically change the situation," Brechalov promised.
The region is also actively working on the employment of ITS veterans. The authorities have concluded agreements with 60 entrepreneurs who provide jobs to military personnel, including those with serious injuries. Last year, a thousand soldiers underwent medical examinations, and 140 people underwent medical rehabilitation.
