New Zealand director Peter Jackson, who is known for the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, will receive the honorary Palme d'Or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival for his contribution to the development of cinema. This was announced on March 5 on the official website of the Cannes Film Festival.

"Being awarded the honorary Palme d'Or in Cannes is one of the greatest privileges of my career. This festival has always celebrated bold, visionary cinema, and I am incredibly grateful to the Cannes Film Festival for the recognition among directors and artists whose work continues to inspire me," said Jackson.

The president of the festival, Iris Knobloch, said that she was pleased to welcome and thank the director of boundless creativity, who brought prestige to the genre of heroic fantasy.

Art Pictures Distribution will present the family film "Pinocchio" as part of the Russian Film Festival in Phuket (Thailand), which will be held from March 2 to March 4. This became known on February 27. The event will become one of the key platforms for the promotion of modern Russian cinema in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
