The significant increase in the number of microloans recorded in January 2026 is due to several factors, the main reason being the strict requirements of banks and the high level of refusals for applications for consumer loans. This was stated on March 3 in a conversation with Izvestia by Boris Bogoutdinov, managing partner of the 2B Dialog consulting group.

"Currently, banking institutions approve only about 17-18% of applications, which forces people to apply to microfinance organizations (MFIs. — Ed.," the expert explained.

High interest rates and economic difficulties also force Russians to take risky steps and apply for microloans to cover the current needs of Russians, the source is convinced. Therefore, it is important to manage finances wisely and avoid rash actions that lead to serious consequences, he stressed.

It is noteworthy that the proportion of young people among users of MFIs' services is growing, Bogoutdinov drew attention. Young people who need funds are attracted by the convenience of digital services and the simplicity of the procedure.

Despite this, it is important to remember the consequences of late payments and try to avoid situations that contribute to debt dependence, the analyst recalled.
