Accused of attempted murder of businessman arrested in Moscow region

A resident of Fryazino, near Moscow, who committed the attempted murder of an entrepreneur and is accused of trafficking explosives, was arrested before April 10. This was announced on March 1 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Under the weight of the collected evidence, the man confessed to the investigator, saying that he had committed the crime out of personal hostility to the victim.

Earlier that day, the man was charged with trafficking explosives and attempted murder of an entrepreneur. It was clarified that he was charged with crimes under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "e" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Attempted murder") and Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices").

On February 10, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region reported an explosion inside a Nissan Patrol car. The Investigative Committee also clarified that the victim received a shrapnel wound to his shin and was hospitalized. The driver of the car that was blown up at the railway crossing did not reach the highway just a few meters away, where there is usually heavy traffic. On February 27, the department reported the arrest of a suspect in a car bombing in Fryazino. According to the investigation, an explosive device was attached to the bottom of the victim's car by a man in the night hours on the eve of the incident.
