The accused of kidnapping a girl in the Smolensk region was arrested for two months
In the Smolensk region, a court arrested for two months a man accused of abducting a nine-year-old girl. This was reported on February 28 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The case is being considered under paragraph "d" of Part 1 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abduction of a person in relation to a known minor").
On February 27, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Smolensk Region reported that 43-year-old Sergei G., a suspect in the abduction of a nine-year-old girl in Smolensk, who had previously been convicted of drug possession, made futile attempts to resist arrest. The department stressed that the actions taken by the suspect were stopped by the criminal investigation department.
The girl disappeared on February 24 while walking her dog. Her mother, according to a source in Izvestia, became worried an hour after she sent the child outside. While searching for her daughter, the woman found only a pet. At the same time, local residents said they had noticed a suspicious car in the area, which may have taken the child away.
A source from Izvestia reported on January 26 that the suspect in the abduction of the girl turned out to be Sergei G. He, as noted, was holding a minor in the apartment of a cohabitant. It is specified that the stolen woman was found by DNA, a SIM card and a car. A criminal case has been opened. The child was later returned to his mother.
