Gazprom announced a drop in gas reserves in the only Baltic UGS below 20%
The level of gas reserves in the Inchukalna underground storage facility (UGS) has dropped below 20%, reaching its lowest level in the last five years. This was announced on February 26 by the Gazprom press service, citing data from the Association of European Gas Infrastructure Operators, Gas Infrastructure Europe.
"The level of gas reserves in the Inchukalna underground storage facility has fallen below 20% and has become the lowest in the last five years for the only UGS facility in the Baltic States," the Telegram channel said.
It is specified that the volume of selected gas was 1.5 times higher than the volume of injection in the summer. Gazprom noted that such a low level may affect the reliability of gas supply, as the heating season has not yet been completed.
Gazprom reported on February 12 that less than 25% of reserves remained in the Baltic gas storage. This could create serious problems in the region and Finland. It is noted that all the gas harvested for the winter period has already been taken from the storage, and 100 million cubic meters of gas have remained at the lowest level in the last five years, with an average consumption level of 10 million cubic meters. This may create difficulties for gas supply to consumers.
