The State Duma called Europe's plans to transfer nuclear weapons to Kiev a war crime
The plans of the British and French authorities, who have announced their intention to transfer nuclear weapons to Ukraine, run counter to international law, as well as violate all treaties on the non-proliferation of such weapons. This was announced on February 24 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
"This is a violation of international law, it is a violation of all treaty relations on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, it is a criminal offense that can lead to tragic consequences. We need to prevent this," he said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Volodin added that members of the State Duma on Thursday, February 26, will consider appeals to the parliaments of France and England with a request to investigate information about preparations for the transfer of nuclear weapons to Kiev.
On February 24, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko ruled out revising Ukraine's status as a nuclear-weapon-free state. She pointed out that this was one of the key conditions for recognizing the independence of this country.
Information about plans for the secret transfer of European components, equipment and technologies in the nuclear field by London and Paris to Kiev was published by the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. After that, the Federation Council called on Britain and France to conduct parliamentary investigations. At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the corresponding intention of the British and French sides a blatant violation of international law.
