Since the beginning of 2026, law enforcement agencies in 15 regions of Russia have prevented 21 attacks on students and teachers. This was stated by Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption.

"Since the beginning of this year, 21 attacks on students and teachers have been prevented in 15 regions of the country," he said.

Kolokoltsev added that the agency will also deal with the involvement of teenagers in extremist activities. The Minister stressed that in order to solve this problem, it is necessary to cooperate with the relevant Duma committee.

In February, a series of attacks on educational institutions took place in Russia. In Ufa, a ninth-grader started shooting at a school. In the same city, a teenager attacked students at a medical school with a knife. In Krasnoyarsk, a schoolgirl set fire to a fire. Later, on February 11, a student opened fire with a rifle at the Anapa Industrial College. In addition, on February 16, the Ministry of Education of Bashkiria announced the receipt of a threatening letter to the college of the region.

In addition, on February 19, a seventh-grader stabbed a peer at a school in Alexandrovsk, Perm Krai. The Investigative Committee (IC) has opened a criminal case into the incident. The student injured in the attack was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 16 that instructions had been sent to the responsible services in connection with the increased frequency of attacks in educational institutions. He assured that measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students.
