Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that Belgrade is ready to consider joining the European Union (EU) without the right of veto. This was reported on February 18 by the German edition of Ad Hock News.

"For Serbia, membership in the EU without the right of veto is acceptable," he stressed.

Vucic added that Belgrade is interested in achieving the "core values" provided by European integration.

On January 26, Politico newspaper reported, citing sources, that a number of European states had criticized Ukraine's plans to join the EU in 2027. It was noted that many leaders had warned of "unforeseen complications for the union" if reconstruction and expansion were formally linked.
