- BFM announced the evacuation of the office of the Unconquered France party due to a false threat
The Paris office of the left-wing party "Unconquered France" (LFI) was urgently evacuated. This was reported on February 18 by BFM TV channel with reference to representatives of the party.
The reason for the evacuation was a threatening email received by the police.
"I just planted explosives in your offices. I did my job well last night, so she couldn't be found. I'm going to kill you all," the party posted an email sent to the police.
Security forces cordoned off the area, also evacuating residents of neighboring houses and students of local schools.
The check showed that the message was false, which was later reported by LFI leader Manuel Bopar.
However, faction leader Mathilde Pano noted that this is not the only case: party offices across the country have been vandalized and massively threatened in recent days.
According to media reports, the aggravation of the situation is related to the events in Lyon, where on February 14, 23-year-old student Quentin Deranc died after a clash with anti-fascists from the Jeune Garde organization (associated with the LFI).
On the day of the evacuation of the headquarters, it became known about the detention of 11 suspects in this case. Among them is Jacques—Elie Favreau, deputy Rafael Arnault's assistant. Arnaud has already announced that he will fire his assistant in connection with the incident.
In France, in November 2025, police detained a man who threatened to buy explosives and blow up a synagogue in Cannes on social media. This was announced by the mayor of the city, David Lisnar, on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter). The mayor added that the suspect is in custody. Neither the identity nor the motives of the man were disclosed.
