The problem of Ukraine in Europe has receded into the background due to disagreements with the United States and Western countries no longer have a plan to support Kiev. The German magazine Der Spiegel wrote about this on February 15.

"They (the Europeans. I have no idea about my own plans, no initiative to end this war. What possible European security guarantees might look like also remains unclear. In Munich, it sometimes seemed that the Europeans were losing sight of Ukraine, as if the conflict there had receded into the background due to concerns about transatlantic relations," the publication says.

The magazine writes that dissatisfaction with the leadership of governments is growing in Europe, in particular because of the inability to solve serious issues. Instead, European politicians, as noted in the article, criticize the actions of the President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen and the head of the European Diplomacy Kai Kallas.

"Von der Leyen does not play a particularly active role in addressing critical issues beyond trade policy. The assessment of the High Representative Kai Kallas is even more harsh," the magazine writes.

On February 15, Kallas said that the member states of the European Union (EU) were not ready to name a date for Ukraine's potential admission to the community. She added that the association needs to move forward on this issue and demonstrate Ukraine's belonging to Europe.
