The most intense moment of the 62nd Munich Security Conference was the discussion between the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, and the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Mike Waltz. This was reported by Politico on February 16.

"The biggest fight is Kaya Callas vs. Mike Waltz. <...> Callas argued with Waltz on everything from the Peace Council to [American leader Donald] Trump's position on Gas is before Washington's attitude towards its allies," the article says.

The discussion culminated with Callas' remark in response to Waltz's accusations of insufficient European defense spending. Callas also sharply criticized the Gaza Peace Council, calling its structure one-sided and not taking into account the interests of the allies.

"I think that's where the difference lies in the way we look at the world," she stressed.

Politico previously reported that another informal meeting, which Callas still managed to hold on the sidelines of the Munich Conference, turned into a failure on February 13. It was noted that the leaders of eight countries were not invited to the meeting, and those who were expected were late.

In May last year, Senator Alexei Pushkov, chairman of the Russian Federation's commission on Information policy and Interaction with the media, said that Callas was not taken seriously by most of the members of the association. At the same time, the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation noted that Brussels began to admit its mistake in appointing Callas to the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
