- The works of the dynasty of glass artists were presented at an exhibition in the Kuskovo estate
The Hermitage Pavilion of the Kuskovo Estate hosts the Saga of Glass exhibition, which features works by Alexander Ivanov, an Honored Artist of Russia, and members of his family. This was announced on February 16 by the portal of the Mayor of Moscow. mos.ru .
The exhibition brings together the works of the master himself, his wife Galina, daughter Irina and granddaughter Ekaterina. All of them work with glass, passing on professional skills from generation to generation.
Alexander Ivanov was born in 1944. He received his art education first at a rural school, then continued his studies at the Stroganov College, and in 1968 graduated from the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry named after V.I. Mukhina in the Department of ceramics and Glass.
Ivanov's work reflects personal impressions and hobbies. After visiting Kuskovsky Park in the mid-1980s, he created a decorative composition dedicated to the estate. The master dedicated individual works to Peterhof and its fountains. The theme of hunting is also reflected in his works. In 2005, the composition "Wolves" appeared, made using the technique of fusing glass sintering in an oven to create relief and picturesque effects.
Galina Ivanova, born in 1945 in Leningrad, also graduated from the Mukhina College. She participated in Russian and foreign exhibitions, worked at the same company "Red Giant". The artist is known as a master of thick glass and polishing. Among her works presented in Kuskovo is the Scarecrow art object, created during a symposium in Nikolsk in 2010.
Irina Ivanova, the daughter of Alexander and Galina, continued the family tradition. She graduated from the same educational institution and joined the Union of Artists of Russia in 1994. The master possesses a rare technique of glass engraving, which makes it possible to create three-dimensional figures with pronounced plasticity. Before starting work, the artist carefully studies the anatomy of the animals depicted. The exhibition presents a series of similar works, as well as a decorative dish "River fish", made in the technique of fusing using colored glass.
The youngest participant of the exhibition is Ekaterina Stolyarova, the daughter of Irina Ivanova. The 27-year-old artist graduated from the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Industry. Since 2013, she has been participating in exhibition projects, and last year she became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Her works are in private collections in Russia and abroad. Kuskovo features decorative layers dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker, Saint Blasius of Sebaste and Lycia, as well as the composition "Forest Dweller".
The Saga of Glass exhibition will be open to visitors until February 22.
