CNBC reported on the "largest migration" of rich people in history
The richest families in the world have begun to change their countries of residence in unprecedented amounts, with many of them choosing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as their next place of residence. This was reported on February 11 by the American television channel CNBC.
"The movement of the world's richest families across borders is accelerating, and experts call this the most significant migration of private capital in the history of observations. The demand for services for moving across borders, planning accommodation and advising on citizenship issues is due to geopolitical tensions," the publication says.
According to the TV channel, 9.8 thousand millionaires moved to the UAE in 2025. The publication states that this may be due to the absence of income tax, capital tax, as well as a convenient system for obtaining a "golden visa".
It is noted that millionaires often chose some European countries, such as Italy, Switzerland, Portugal and Greece, among the destinations for moving. Also, wealthy families often moved to Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
In August last year, it became known that about 60% of British millionaires expressed their willingness to leave the country in the event of the introduction of a new wealth tax. According to an Arton study, the United States topped the ranking of the countries most attractive for moving among wealthy Britons, followed by Canada, Australia and the UAE, indicating a desire for low-tax and English-speaking countries.
