Mishustin reported on the prepared amendments on benefits for large families
The Russian government has prepared amendments that will allow large families to receive social benefits even if they slightly exceed the established income criterion. This was announced on February 11 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"The government has prepared relevant amendments to the regulatory framework. It is proposed that if the incomes of large families with a repeated value of these payments exceed the minimum subsistence level of 10%, they will be extended the provision of other benefits for another 12 months," he said at a government meeting.
The exact amount of the payment will depend on the region of residence.
The government expects the changes to take effect as early as January 1, 2026. It is expected that the relevant bill will be submitted for consideration in due course.
On February 9, the government supported new rules for the payment of a single allowance in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child. It was clarified that the bill narrows the circle of recipients of benefits and focuses on those who have a longer and more stable legal relationship with the state.
