Armenia has acquired V-BAT model reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the United States. This was announced on February 9 by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with American Vice President Jay Dee Vance.

"Armenia has acquired V-BAT UAVs from the United States, the effectiveness of which has been proven in practice and which will significantly enhance our defense capabilities," he said during his speech.

Pashinyan also stated that this deal was implemented within the framework of the US program on foreign military sales. He expressed hope for the expansion of interstate cooperation in the future.

Vance, in turn, added that the United States had sold drones worth $11 million to its "good friend" Armenia.

The US Vice President arrived in Yerevan on the same day. He was met by Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan at Zvartnots airport. This visit, as emphasized, was made by Vance as part of his regional tour. Later it became known that Vance and Pashinyan signed an agreement on the development of cooperation between Washington and Yerevan in the civil nuclear field.

On January 23, US President Donald Trump, commenting on Vance's tour, said that in addition to Armenia, the vice president would also visit Azerbaijan. Accordingly, as the American leader explained, his state will not only strengthen peace between the listed countries, but also provide its defense equipment manufacturers with new contracts.
