- Kotyakov spoke about the program to help graduates find employment in their specialty
Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, on Tuesday, February 10, spoke about a federal program designed to help graduates of schools and universities find a job in their specialty rather than entering the delivery industry.
"Couriers have a really good income level, which, combined with the simple entry into this profession, attracts a lot of people to it. We need to reverse this trend. <...> Our task is to escort the guys to their relevant employer and route them," Kotyakov said in an interview with Expert magazine.
He noted that it is necessary to make sure that starting from senior years, students understand how their career path will develop.
Kotyakov said that in 2025, the program was launched in 11 pilot regions, where high school students, colleges and universities were directly introduced to enterprises, mentors, working conditions and salaries through recruitment centers.
According to the minister, this has led to an increase in job placement in the specialty and the "settlement" of young people in their native regions. Now the program is scaled up to the whole country: hundreds of thousands of young people from 16 to 24 years old have received invitations through Gosuslugi, and work has already begun with them.
In May 2025, it was reported that one in ten Russians (12%) said that relatives and close people made the decision on their future profession for them. The younger the respondents were, the more often they indicated that they made their own choice: 84% of respondents under the age of 18, and 65% of 35-44-year—olds.
