Russian animation artist Konstantin Bronzit announced on February 9 that he has a chance of winning after his work was nominated for an Oscar.

"I am aware that I have not made the best film of my career. That is, there is no bright film leader. This means that everyone has a chance. Including me," he said in an interview with TASS.

The animation artist also drew attention to the fact that in 2026, the nomination includes diverse animated films, each of which has both advantages and certain disadvantages.

Bronzit was nominated for the award in the category "Best Animated Short Film" for the cartoon "Three Sisters". The film became the director's third project nominated for an Academy Award in this category.

The cartoon "Three Sisters" was nominated for an Oscar on January 22. The film was nominated in the Best Animated Short Film category. In addition, such cartoons as "Butterfly" and "Evergreen" were nominated.

The animation artist himself stated at the same time that the nomination of his cartoon "Three Sisters" for the award was a test of the American Academy for the value of skill. He added that of all the works shortlisted for the award, his work was the only one that was light and funny, rather than gloomy and oppressive to the audience like the works of competitors.
