The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, reported on the same day that in Ufa, law enforcement officers detained a teenager who attacked the dormitory of one of the medical schools on Repin Street with a knife. According to the Izvestia source, six people, including one child, were injured in the attack.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that the teenager stabbed two policemen during his arrest and also injured himself. He was admitted to Children's Hospital No. 17. Doctors assess the attacker's condition as serious.

A criminal case has been opened into the attack under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 ("Attempted murder of two or more persons") and Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Assault on the life of a law enforcement officer").
