French President Emmanuel Macron's diplomatic adviser, Emmanuel Bonn, allegedly visited Moscow to establish contacts with the Russian side. This was reported on February 4 by Reuters, citing a source.
"Emmanuel Bonn, Diplomatic Adviser to the President… Macron traveled to Moscow on Tuesday to meet with Russian officials," the agency said in a statement.
According to the source, the purpose of the visit was to establish a dialogue between the parties. At the same time, the Elysee Palace did not confirm or deny the information about the trip, Reuters notes.
Earlier, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported on February 4 that there were certain contacts between Russia and France at the working level. He clarified that the dialogue is conducted without specific agreements on contacts at the highest level. According to the Kremlin representative, there is currently no significant progress in this direction.
